Mireille Blanc
Biography
Mireille Blanc was born in 1985, in Saint-Avold, France. She lives and works in Brunoy, France. She is represented by The Pill (Istanbul) and
Galerie Anne-Sarah Bénichou (Paris). Mireille Blanc is a French painter who works on the enigmatic aspect of the subjects she meets. Starting from personal or collected photographs that she chooses with a great deal of intuition, she is interested in the details of the manufacture of the image by reworking the clichés, to lead to an in-between between abstraction and memorial landmarks. The artist seeks to make the initial subject escape in the patterns that she paints by
insisting on the details and by modifying the scale ratios, for example by enlarging small elements in order to lose the viewer in the image and blur
the context. This artistic process [...] allows the appearance of a new reality in the erasure of the first subject.
