Grégoire Laisné
Biography

Grégoire Laisné was born in Tours in 1982. A graduate of the Beaux-Arts in Rouen, he began his artistic career as an engraver. He won the Prix Lacourière with his first works on paper.
Immediately, his singular monotypes are noticed by a presence / absence of the human figure in a sort of impossible and universal portrait.
Whether in painting, printmaking or drawing, Grégoire Laisné continues today to develop very personal techniques, combining computer processes (computer drawing) and more traditional know-how. His figures, rarely identifiable, are often notched (in engraving), sometimes perforated (in painting) or even broken down (in drawing). They are as if marked by the process of creation in a back and forth game between abstraction and figuration which gives her faces the appearance of mirages, sometimes leading them to the limit of perception.
